The STRONG BONES TABLE
DEBUT of A TURN FOR THE WORSE at Brooklyn Independant Comic Expo
Strong Bones Studio is an independent animation and art collective based in New York City, founded by Creative Director Mike Ricca. The studio is a flexible network of directors, animators, and storytellers collaborating from NYC to LA to Europe to create dynamic, artist-driven work.
Alongside our animation projects, Strong Bones publishes independent comics and anthologies, providing a platform for working production artists to create short-form comics and narrative print work.
Our anthology A Turn for the Worse brings together artists exploring strange twists, dark humor, and stories at the edge of imagination. Volume 2 releases this April at BICS, and Strong Bones publications are carried in shops across the country including Forbidden Planet (NYC), Books With Pictures (Portland), and Vault of Midnight (Detroit).

A Vision of Blood Meridian
A Vision of Blood Meridian
is a 24-page illustrated storybook adapted from a passage in Cormac McCarthy’s Blood Meridian. Through stark imagery and desolate landscapes, it renders a vision of the Southwest steeped in bewilderment, violence, and the quiet majesty of ruin.
Illustrated by Mike Ricca and printed with care at Fireball Printing in Philadelphia, this edition transforms McCarthy’s prose into a visual meditation on beauty, brutality, and the ghostly silence that lingers after.
